A Statement from the Session Of Scots Presbyterian Church;

The congregation of Scots Presbyterian Church Cootamundra is a group of people from various backgrounds, of all age groups and stages of spiritual growth, who have been drawn together by a common love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Presbyterian Church holds to and teaches the evangelical understanding of the Christian faith and the full and final authority of the Bible as the revealed Word of God, inspired by the Spirit of God.

We believe in

*The full and final authority of the Bible as the revealed Word of God,
*The doctrine of the Trinity,
*The virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, His sinless life, His atoning death as the ground of our salvation, His resurrection on the third day and His ascension into glory,
*The personal return of Christ in glory,
*The universality of sin and humanity's total inability to save itself from condemnation and the power of evil,
*Salvation by faith in Christ, the only mediator between God and people,
*The necessity for consecration to God in order to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit,
*The eternal condemnation of all who refuse the truth,
*The eternal blessedness of all who respond to the divine revelation, the universal priesthood of believers,
*And the obligation of all Christians to participate, according to opportunity, in evangelizing those who do not have the gospel.

Scots congregation is a group of 'saved sinners'. We meet regularly to worship our Heavenly Father and to encourage each other. Through prayer, singing praises and studying the Word, we become better equipped to reach out to those in our community who do not have the gospel.
We do this out of our love and gratitude for what Jesus Christ has done for us.
We realize that we have not been called to be popular, but to stand firm for the truth and to be faithful, knowing the Lord will accomplish whatever He pleases through us for His Glory.
